Spot Something Special...!

At Hamerton Zoo Park we have always been well known for our Cheetahs!
These wonderful and endangered cats are well suited to the wide open spaces we can give them. Our numerous enclosures are designed to allow them long views into the distance, just as they would have on the open grasslands of Africa. This is critical to their well being, in both Africa and in England!
We are delighted to announce the arrival of three new animals which were born at a privately owned conservation and research centre in South Africa. The three young cats are a male called 'Duma' and two females 'Mayon' and 'Jetts', all named by our Afican colleagues, are now well settled into their legally required isolation period. When this is completed in a few weeks, you may be able to spot them in one of our eight enclosures, where our Cheetahs are rotated.
These three new cats are unrelated to each other, to our current animals and to the rest of the UK blood lines. This makes them very important, and very special!
We would like to thank the manager and all staff at London Heathrow's Animal Reception Centre for their care and help with this import; which was filmed by and will feature in a future episode of the long-running TV series 'Britain's Busiest Airport'.
