Shop Renovations...

Work is going well on the renovations to our entrance and coffee-shop. This will add a second pay window, which we hope will reduce the queues caused by the shift in payments from cash to cards. Card transactions take much longer, which at times causes some queues and delays. The included changes to the coffee-shop are not effecting the existing facility in any way, and are being fitted in around other development as there is no real deadline. We have to make efficient use of labour availability and weather, and the dry settled spell has allowed the car-parks to be extended and a number of ground-works jobs to be progressed; which we did not expect to be able to get done at this time of year. Included has been the completion of another off-show Cheetah house and runs, serving one of the top paddocks; and the planting of another 200 trees. Given that, we hope that the works to the shops will be done by the Whitsun half-term - unless of course something else crops up first! More animals are expected very soon, so our efforts may have to be diverted again...
Our being so flexible is the very reason why you can see such an unusual collection of animals here at Hamerton Zoo Park.
