Thanks to the 'Iceland Supermarket' chain, the media and public seem at last to be waking up to the devastation caused by this product. Over half of the production is used for production of so-called 'green' bio-diesel, but the rest is used for consumer goods and food.
After checking, we find it is an ingredient in many of the popular products sold in our Coffee-Shop' as demanded by our visitors.
As a retailer, our pledge is to remove it entirely from our shelves. As soon as alternative products - bread, cakes, pastries, chocolate, etc - are sourced, current lines from Kingsmill, Wrights, Cadbury's, Nestle, Jacobs etc will be deleted with immediate effect.
We have already contacted our suppliers, asking for alternatives.
If you know of suitable alternative sources and brands, please let us know - information will simplify and speed up the process.
Our aim is to be Palm-Oil 'free' by the start of next season.
