IZES meeting...
08/07/2018
Yesterday we were delighted to be able to host the annual IZES meeting for the second time. The Independent Zoo Enthusiasts Society is the leading zoo and conservation support group, and their afternoon included a swap meet for zoo memorabilia followed by a guided tour of the Park in the early evening. It was another very warm day, which also clashed with a much hyped football match; so the organisers were delighted that the event was very well attended with double the expected number of members coming to see us. During the tour we were able to detail some of the exciting plans for the Parks development and showcase some of the very special animals which already live at Hamerton.
We hope that the societies members had an interesting day, and will visit us again over the coming year as our new animals arrive.
Thank you too for the generous donations made, including a large collection of Zoo Yearbooks and other publications for the Parks ever expanding library, and collection of historical items and material - which will form the core of the new Zoo History Museum, planned to open at the Park in 2019. A tab will be added under the 'Our Animals' gallery, where we can add information as this project progresses; pending an eventual web-site re-vamp.
