Is there parking at Hamerton Zoo Park?

Yes there is free car parking and parking for coaches. We also have a grass overflow car park for busier days.

Please note – Hamerton Zoo Park does not offer Blue Light or Military discount

£3.50 – the K-T Express Dinosaur train-ticket remains unchanged at £3.50 and is purchased on site, not on-line. The train runs at weekends and in school holidays, if the weather permits.

We have enabled the ability to adjust your online ticket booking yourself if required, for an administrative fee of £10. However, please note that tickets purchased online are non-refundable. If this could be a problem for you, please purchase your tickets on the gate at arrival.

Please note that no animal at Hamerton Zoo Park is shut in or out, against its will and forced to exhibit itself – as some bad Zoos are still allowed to do, even here in the UK. The welfare of our animals is always our first priority, and under normal circumstances all have the freedom to come and go as they like. None are brought in as seasonal temporary attractions and all live here year round. So – it is always possible that any individual animal might not be visible the first time you look. As a result of these highest possible standards of animal welfare, our results with rare and unusual species are second to none. We also reserve the right as always to confine any animal for its own welfare, if circumstances arise which are beyond our control.

To ensure the safety of our staff, volunteers and visitors, and the welfare of our animals, CCTV will be used wherever appropriate in the park. Threatening, abusive and antisocial behaviour will not be tolerated. Recorded footage is automatically erased after 7 days and will be made available to the police before that time, if so requested. Your entry onto our premises, is taken as your approval of our CCTV policy.

Please note that NO animals, balls, games, radios, bikes, scooters, other wheeled toys – or other toys of any kind are permitted entry into the Park – This includes ALL bikes and tricycles with detachable ‘parent’ handles (with or without pedals), which are therefore capable of being propelled by the child without direct adult control.

Yes, Hamerton Zoo Park is accessible for wheelchair users and visitors with mobility needs.
All outdoor enclosures are connected by tarmac paths, and our Outback Aviary features ramped walkways for easy access. We have accessible parking spaces reserved near the entrance, and a disabled toilet is available in our main toilet block. While we do not currently offer mobility scooter hire, we strive to make the park as welcoming and accessible as possible for all visitors.

Yes, we do offer a free carer (also known as an essential companion) ticket for visitors who require support during their visit.

To be eligible, the visitor requiring support must hold a valid Access Card with the +1 symbol, or a Hamerton Zoo Park Digital Access Pass with the +1 symbol. These help us ensure the carer ticket is offered to those who need it, while removing the need to bring sensitive documentation on the day.

You can apply for an Access Card, or a free digital Hamerton Zoo Access Pass specifically for use at our Zoo via this link:

Please note that all eligibility must be arranged in advance of your visit, and the application process can take up to 7 working days. Our team cannot accept any other form of documentation at the entrance, including PIP, DLA & Blue Badges.

You can take all day to enjoy your visit. We do suggest though that you need at least three hours to see all the animals and longer if you would like to take a break for some food or if you have young children with you.

Yes, we are only closed Christmas Day and Boxing Day. Sometimes, due to circumstances outside our control such as extreme weather, we may be forced to close but will notify you on our Website and Social Media.

Sorry, no we don’t. You are welcome to bring your own one, though.

No unauthorised animals of any kind are allowed to come into the Zoo. Please note that we also do not allow pets to be left in cars, even with ventilation and water. Anyone found leaving pets in their cars will not be granted admission. We take our lead from the RSPCA, and as with all animal welfare, we take this very seriously.

Any visitor using a child ticket to enter must be accompanied by an adult (16+).
