A sad time for the Zoo....
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our female Maned Wolf 'Jaffa'.
Jaffa was found very lethargic and uncoordinated Saturday 4th April and was put to sleep that afternoon.
Jaffa arrived in August 2004 and was then paired with male 'Jack' in 2006. She was an excellent mum, and successfully reared several litters. Her favourite treats from her keeper were mice and chick, and she could often be seen hunting for voles in the grass of her paddock. She will be greatly missed by the keepers.
RIP beautiful Jaffa - happy vole hunting in the grasslands in the sky xx
(Jack can still be found in his paddock and we will be monitoring him closely whilst he gets used to being on his own.)
